11 wonderful 7" Singles !
In 1967, the now legendary Trojan imprint was born to release the wonderful productions of Arthur ‘Duke’ Reid in the UK. The label was so-called in honour of the Leyland truck which ferried Reid’s Sound System around Jamaica and had the slogan ‘Duke Reid – The Trojan King Of Sounds’ daubed on the side.40 years later and Trojan Records is still going strong and is widely regarded as the world’s finest purveyors of Jamaican music, the logo and name becoming synonymous with reggae music. Judge Sympathy is a celebration of the humble beginnings of the label and features replicas of the eleven 7” singles to be released on the imprint in that first year. In essence, these records started the Trojan phenomenon and this release honours them!
